About

Patrick has a commercial litigation and public law practice.

He undertakes appearance and advisory work in the fields of resources, construction, contract, trusts, regulatory proceedings, planning, environmental and administrative law.

Patrick was admitted to the profession in 2015 and called to the bar in 2021. As counsel, he has appeared in courts both in Queensland and interstate. He is briefed un-led, led by King’s counsel, and as part of larger counsel teams in substantial and complex matters, both at first-instance and on appeal.

Patrick also has recent experience in public inquiries, shortly before his call to the bar acting for the Coal Mines Inspectorate in the Coal Mines Board of Inquiry (2020-21) and for the Department of Natural Resources, Mines and Energy (as it then was) in the Paradise Dam Commission of Inquiry (2020).

Earlier in his legal career, Patrick worked as a litigation solicitor in private practice advising clients on commercial, construction and planning disputes, and, more recently, in a variety of legal roles in the public sector.

In 2014-2015, he was the associate to His Honour Judge Morzone KC in the District Court and Planning and Environment Court of Queensland.
